Remmy
Remmy is now 16 weeks, but he almost didn't live past 10 weeks. He was an
'overflow' pup coming in from another rescue. We agreed to take one, if they
had a pushy, outgoing pup that might be suited for a job. People were looking
for a pup to raise for service work. They had one alright!. But 4 days into
rescue he was diagnosed with Parvo, a deadly disease for young dogs.
Not much was in his favor and because funds were not available, we treated him
at home instead of the hospital. He was stuck repeatedly with IV fluids and
given meds that made him sick. It was a long recovery but for 2 days he wavered
between death and a questionable prognosis, if he survived. There was a time
when he was too weak to raise his head. We noticed that when he heard his
foster Dad's voice his tail started wagging, and only stopped when he left the
room.
Sometimes, things work out and you don't question why. It was thought he may
not be suited for service work after this. That he may be too small, or frail,
so he was no longer being considered.
This photo is of Remmy today with his big brother.
